Wellness Programming Specialist

Maria brings to Solvere Living an unparalleled excitement, creativity, culture and expertise to assisted living, independent living and Valeo programming.  Marie has over 10 years of experience in social work, recreational therapy and fun psychology working with members of diverse communities and ages.  Maria is an expert at planning, organizing and coordinating the programming activities, social service programs and community outreach.

Prior to joining Solvere Living, Maria joined The Atrium at Boca Raton community in September of 2018 and transitioned to becoming a Solvere Salus Coach at the Atrium in September of 2019.   In November of 2020, Maria became a Senior Salus Coach which gave her the opportunity to support Salus Coaches in various Solvere communities.  Maria will now serve as a direct support to wellness programming in all Solvere communities.

Maria has more than 10 years of experience in recreational therapy and social work with Children’s Services Council and Children’s Home Society where she focused on special programs with The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office PAL programs and troubled kids; worked with UNITEWAY and two of their educational programs for children:  School Readiness, and a Teen Club that she created with over 72 students from the Palm Beach County west area high schools. Embedded in the Hispanic community in the westside of Palm Beach County, Maria was there to support, help and solve any needs or difficulties that would emerge and most of all helping build a beautiful community. Teaching parents and grandparents to read and practice English was a joy.  Maria’s professional life turned to senior living when she was chosen to be the Programming Director for The Atrium at Boca Raton senior living community.

Maria After Hours…

Coming from a very competitive all-male family of architects and engineers, Maria made a left turn and went to Florida Atlantic University for her BSW and PBCC for her AS in Psychology. She is very passionate about running, fashion, gourmet cooking, interior design, coffee growing and traveling Europe & South America. Maria takes running very seriously and will be participating in the Palm Beach Marathon 2021. Speaking Italian and Spanish has given her the chance to explore and travel to other countries and learn their ways. She loves to visit and manage the production of coffee at her family coffee plantation in Colombia.
