Luis Colon

Vice President of Accounting and Treasury
Luis has over 14 years of experience as an accountant. He has worked in numerous industries: higher education, law firm, Non-for-profit (religious), container lifting company and nursing communities. He’s been focusing on the nursing community industry for over the last 6 years. He has experience in the implementation of new accounting and payroll systems and creating efficiency and implementation of new processes and procedures.
In his last role at Generations Healthcare Network, we managed 19 nursing home facilities, Skilled, Intermediate care, Assisted Living and Independent Living communities. He first began as the only accountant and prepared and reviewed 14 financials. As more facilities were acquired, He lead in building and supervising the accounting team to 4 accountants. His role as the Controller / Accounting Manager was focused on the review of the 19 financial statements. He worked closely with the VP of Financial Services in overseeing the Accounts Payable, Payroll and other staff in the Financial Department.

Luis After Hours…

Before accounting, Luis Colon was a pastor for four years. He enjoys learning new vegan desserts and his favorite dessert to make is raspberry swirl cheesecake. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. Colon also has a Master’s in Divinity from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
